Odaily Planet Daily reports that female businesswoman Qian Zhimin, who previously fled to the UK with a market value of nearly 50 billion yuan in Bitcoin and pleaded guilty in the UK’s “largest Bitcoin money laundering case,” will have her sentencing announced on Tuesday (the 11th) local time. She faces a maximum of 14 years in prison. Qian Zhimin’s defense lawyer, Richard Thomas, stated that his client had no prior criminal record and behaved well during detention. Richard also mentioned during the sentencing hearing that Qian Zhimin has been studying English diligently in prison, “and even wrote poetry.” (Red Star News)
