1. The remains of the 13th batch of Chinese People’s Volunteers’ martyrs returned home from South Korea. Shenyang Taoxian International Airport welcomed the heroes “through the water-gate” with the highest honors, with 4 J-20s passing at low altitude.

2. 15 departments proposed 18 measures to further deepen the construction of youth development–oriented cities, promoting youth hostels and encouraging “youth pop-up shops.”

3. Two Pakistani candidates were selected. China’s space station will welcome its first foreign astronaut.

4. Baoji, Shaanxi completed the nation’s first case of early repayment of special-purpose bonds for prefecture-level cities, saving more than 30 million yuan in interest.

10. The United Kingdom has passed the Tobacco and E-cigarettes Bill. Youths aged 17 and under will be permanently banned from buying cigarettes. The bill also stipulates that it is illegal for merchants to sell tobacco products to people born on or after January 1, 2009.

11. The U.S. Department of Defense released its budget proposal for fiscal year 2027 of $1.5 trillion (about RMB 10.2 trillion), an increase of 42% over the previous year, setting the record for the highest defense spending in modern history.
