Before you place an order, you’ll “research.” How do you research? You open the bloggers you follow and see what they say. If they’re already going long, you’ll feel reassured and go long yourself. If they’re bearish, you just swipe past and look for the next blogger who’s bullish. Your so-called “research” isn’t about finding the truth—it’s about finding approval. You’re not trying to find out how the market will move; you’re trying to find a reason that lets you place your orders with peace of mind. You follow twenty bloggers: nineteen are bullish, one is bearish. You think the longs are strong, so you go long. But you never thought about it—those nineteen bullish bloggers are also retail traders. Just like you, they’re searching for approval, and they’ll get harvested by the market just the same. You band together to keep warm, all going long, all getting buried together. This isn’t research; it’s seeking psychological comfort. And the market won’t show you mercy just because you found people like you. I’ve taken this cut. What about you?
