I just reviewed the data published by CRE recently, and gas prices in Mexico vary quite a bit depending on where you live. Here in Mexico City and the State of Mexico, it costs around 19.12 pesos per kilogram, so it's not too bad compared to other places.
What's interesting is that there are states where gas prices are more affordable. I saw that Hidalgo has some of the lowest at 18.58 pesos per kilogram, and Guanajuato is also around 18.96. Morelos is also quite good at 18.74 pesos. On the other hand, states like Chiapas and Durango are a bit more expensive, around 19.70 pesos.
Honestly, gas prices remain an important issue for many Mexican families. If you have the option, it's worth checking which state offers it cheaper, even if just to better plan your budget. The data circulating shows that the difference between the most expensive and the cheapest state can be almost 1.30 pesos per kilogram, so it definitely adds up in the end.
