Hey, I just checked what happened with the license plates in Jalisco, and it's important if you have a motorcycle or a car. It turns out that those with plates ending in 4, 5, 6, and 7 had until the end of February to make the free change, but that deadline has already passed. Now, if you didn't complete the process on time, you'll have to pay the full 2,500 pesos.
What I found out is that the old plates like Maguey, Minerva, and Gota are no longer valid. Now, only the 2019 Collage design or the 2025 Cabañas design are accepted; the latter offers more data protection. If you have an old motorcycle plate, you need to update it no matter what to be able to drive legally.
For the exchange, you need to present the original previous plate, your current INE, proof of address (no older than 90 days), and the verification certificate. The problem is that if your registration in the vehicle registry is outdated or you have pending owner changes, the free benefit is lost. My recommendation: if you haven't done it yet, schedule it quickly on the Jalisco portal because as months go by, more people will get motivated and everything will get saturated. Especially if you have motorcycle plates, which are often postponed. Have you already changed your motorcycle plates in Jalisco, or are you still working on it?
