Barley Shochu's popular products—I've been trying various ones lately—and I really feel there's a reason why some are considered classics. They're light and have minimal aftertaste, so you never get tired of drinking them every day. They also pair easily with any way you enjoy them, whether water-diluted or hot water.

Personally, the most memorable ones are those that clearly bring out the roasted aroma of barley. Like Sato or Kami no Kawa, where the fragrance rises as soon as you pour them into a glass. They have a rich, full-bodied flavor, yet the aftertaste is clean, so you don't get tired of drinking them. When paired with Chinese or spicy dishes, the umami of the barley and ingredients complement each other perfectly, making it an excellent combination.

On the other hand, for everyday evening drinks, a light and smooth barley shochu is also great. It’s free of impurities and simple, so even on tired days, you can drink it smoothly. Many are reasonably priced, and they also serve as a good base for water-diluted drinks or cocktails.

I think the reason barley shochu is so popular is because it doesn’t require the drinker to be particular. From shochu enthusiasts to beginners, there's a wide range of options to suit your taste. Finding a popular product that balances roasted aroma and lightness really makes every day more enjoyable.
