Look, Ludvig Aberg shot a 63 in The Players and became the sole leader. It's incredible, almost tying the course record. The guy is in great form after finishing third at the Arnold Palmer recently. The Swedes following him were super excited, wearing Viking hats.

But what hurts is that Emiliano Grillo couldn't make it through the tournament. The Argentine was eliminated after a second round of 75 strokes. Over two days, he totaled 161 (+17) and did not make the cut, which was projected at +2. Grillo's best performance at The Players remains 2017 when he finished 11th. This time, nothing went his way.

While Aberg was making 29 strokes on the first nine holes (tying the course record), the leaders from the first day fell apart. Xander Schauffele shot 65 and is the runner-up with 134 (-10), two strokes behind. Scottie Scheffler made the cut but just barely, signing for 73 in the second round (145 total, +1). Rory McIlroy is also in the mix, recovering from back pain. He says reaching the weekend is already a victory for him. The tournament continues tomorrow and promises to be exciting with Aberg in the lead.
