Just dealt with this annoying thing where my calls kept showing as private and I had no idea why. Turns out it's not always obvious how to fix it, so figured I'd share what worked for me in case someone else is stuck with the same issue.

So if you're trying to figure out how to remove private call from my phone, first thing is checking your phone settings. On Android, you basically need to go into your Phone app, hit settings, find Calling accounts, and look for Caller ID options. Different brands put it in different spots though - Samsung, Google, Xiaomi all have slightly different layouts. The goal is just telling your network to show your number instead of hiding it.

For iPhone, it's in Settings > Apps > Phone > Show My Caller ID and you just toggle it on. Pretty straightforward if you know where to look.

But here's the thing - sometimes the setting is already on and your number still shows as private. That's usually a carrier issue, not your phone. I tried resetting my network settings and that actually helped. You can also use USSD codes like *31# to force your number visible on all calls, or #31# to check the status. Some carriers respond differently though.

If nothing works after trying all that, it might be your SIM card is too old or there's some privacy app with deep permissions messing things up. Replacing the SIM or checking for apps like Truecaller that might be blocking it could help. The whole thing took me longer than it should've but once I got it sorted, calls went back to normal. Anyone else run into this?
