I just found out that fines in Jalisco have increased quite a bit since February. If you're caught parked in a no-parking zone, it now costs between 1,173 and 2,932 pesos depending on the location and whether you have prior violations. Basically, the fine for parking in a prohibited area in Jalisco is calculated based on the UMA, which is 117.31 pesos, so the ranges are from 10 to 25 UMAs.

What’s good is that if you pay quickly, you get discounts. If you do so within the first 10 business days, they forgive 50%, not bad. If you miss those days but pay between days 11 and 20, you get a 25% discount. After that, you pay the full amount.

Paying the fine for parking in a no-parking zone in Jalisco is now pretty easy; everything is done online. You go to the vehicle services portal, enter your license plate, the last digits of your VIN, your name, and that’s it—you see what fines you have and pay with a debit or credit card. You download the receipt in PDF, and that’s it. Many delivery drivers and drivers are in the same situation, so if you have pending fines, it’s better not to wait more than 10 days or you’ll lose the discount.
