Is the Alibaba version of "Pop Mart" coming? They responded that it is still in the preliminary planning stage.
Beijing News Shell Finance reports (by reporter Cheng Zijiao): On March 5, the Beijing News Shell Finance reporter learned through multiple channels that Alibaba’s first offline pop-culture toy store, “Good Luck Lian De LUCKY LOOP,” has been officially rolled out in Beijing. “Good Luck Lian De LUCKY LOOP” is 100% held by China United Shishi Culture (Beijing) Co., Ltd., which is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Damai Entertainment (formerly Alibaba Pictures). In response, Damai Entertainment told the Beijing News Shell Finance reporter that the store is a collection shop for IP (intellectual property) derivative products, and that it is still in the early stage of exploration and preparation. The company said it will continue to try exploring multiple paths for IP commercialization.
The Beijing News Shell Finance reporter also learned that Alibaba is continuing to increase its investment in AI (artificial intelligence) applications on the consumer side. At the end of February, it quietly launched a confidential beta test for its pop-culture toy AI platform “Miaoya AI.” The product focuses on AI doll-making (making dolls) functions in the pop-culture toy sector, and it may work in tandem with offline pop-culture toy stores.
