Not long ago, LG did something I didn't expect to see so soon: they brought back the Wallpaper TV. But it's not just a nostalgic revival – it's a complete reinvention.
If you follow the premium TV market, you know that LG has dominated OLED technology for 13 consecutive years. But this time, they did something different with the W6. They managed to compress an entire TV into a body only 9mm thick. Yes, 9 millimeters. To put it into perspective, it's almost impossible to notice it's there on the wall.
What makes this especially interesting is the True Wireless technology they integrated. All connections come from a box that can be up to 10 meters away. This means the wallpaper TV remains truly clean, with no visible cables. It's the kind of detail that separates a beautiful product from one that truly works as promised.
Now, moving on to the technical part that really matters: the Hyper Radiant Color technology. Basically, they managed to make an OLED TV that is 3.9 times brighter than conventional models, without sacrificing the perfect blacks OLEDs are known for. And here’s the crucial detail – they can do this even in very bright rooms because they significantly reduced screen reflection. It’s the industry’s first Reflection Free Premium certification.
The α11 AI Gen3 processor is another noteworthy feature. It has a neural processing unit 5.6 times more powerful than the previous generation. This translates into a Dual AI Engine that can eliminate noise while maintaining natural details – something traditional processors can't do simultaneously.
For gamers, the wallpaper TV supports 4K at 165Hz with G-SYNC and FreeSync, with a response time of 0.1ms. This is the kind of specification serious gamers look for.
But perhaps the most interesting aspect is how LG is approaching personalized experiences. With Voice ID, the TV recognizes who is watching and automatically changes the interface. They integrated Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot, so you can ask questions to the TV and get contextualized answers. There’s also a new feature called In This Scene that generates information about the cast and related content.
Gallery+ is another smart touch – it transforms the TV into a design piece when you're not watching content, with over 4,500 different visuals to choose from.
What surprised me is how LG managed to maintain structural integrity with all of this compressed into such a small space. It’s not just a beautiful product – it’s serious engineering.
The wallpaper TV has recently hit the market and is already setting new standards for what a premium TV should be. If the goal was to create something that disappears into the wall while offering the best in technology, they achieved it.
