A cheap block is now the norm, not a promo. Ethereum layer-2 fees fell below one cent for five days in a row as blob space use hit a record high. EIP-4844 blobs averaged 5.2 per block, up 41% week over week, and L2 posting cost dropped 68%. Base, Arbitrum, and Optimism led the drop, with median user cost at $0.004 to $0.008. Throughput held above 180 TPS across the group without a rise in failed txs.
