Microsoft reorganizes AI leadership, appoints new Copilot head
On March 17 local time, Microsoft made an executive shuffle aimed at restructuring the development process for its Copilot intelligent AI assistant. Previously, the consumer and enterprise versions of Copilot were handled by different teams, but Microsoft is about to consolidate some teams in an effort to build a more unified Copilot for both enterprises and consumers.
After this adjustment, Microsoft’s AI Chief Executive Officer, Mustafa. Suleyman, will focus on creating AI models developed in-house by Microsoft, rather than directly participating in the development of Copilot features for consumers. Jacob Andreou will be responsible for the user experience of Copilot in both the enterprise and consumer domains, and will report directly to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Andreou joined Microsoft’s AI division last year and has been focusing on product and growth. Previously, he also worked at Snap on product and growth.
