Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Baghaei said on April 2 that the reason Iran has decided to take specific measures regarding the passage of ships is simple: Iran needs to ensure that the aggressors and their vessels will not abuse the Strait of Hormuz to carry out military aggression against Iran, based on international law.

Baghaei also said that those ships that do not belong to the aggressors, have no association with them, and do not support their actions of aggression against Iran will be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz after the necessary coordination with our authorities. This necessary coordination is only to ensure passage safety.

He emphasized that although it is impossible to predict what the United States might do or how it might respond, there is one thing that can be certain: “For the Iranian people, we are determined to firmly defend our right to repel aggression. We have no choice but to rise in resistance.”
