Recently, when I was upgrading my HDD, I did some research and realized that there are really a lot of recommended HDDs out there. I was looking for an external HDD to store videos and photos, as well as for TV recording, and when considering capacity and price, it still feels more cost-effective than SSDs.

After comparing various models, I found that transfer speed and heat management are quite important. Especially models with lower temperatures under heavy load tend to have a lower risk of failure. When choosing a recommended HDD, I noticed that it's not just about simple speed; features like LED indicators and failure prediction functions can also be quite helpful.

For recommended products from brands like I-O Data, Buffalo, and Logicool, a transfer speed of around 200MB/s has become standard. For files around 5GB, it takes about 30 seconds to complete, so waiting times are hardly noticeable. Particularly, models that support TV functions or come with security slots are worth choosing based on your needs.

There are also recommended HDDs with iPhone connectivity features, making it easy to transfer iTunes backups, which is quite convenient. Additionally, having a data erasure function at disposal when disposing of the drive helps reduce the risk of data leaks, providing peace of mind. Ultimately, choosing an HDD that fits your specific use case is the best approach, but I think balancing transfer speed, heat management, and extra features is the recommended way to select.
