I just checked the updated costs for the motorcycle license in Mexico City for 2026, and honestly, it's worth being informed. If you ride a motorcycle in the capital, you need to know that an A1 license costs 572 pesos, but if you want an A2 license that allows you to drive both a motorcycle and a car, it’s 1,142 pesos. The interesting part is that the validity is three years, so it’s not an annual expense.
Additionally, if you live in Edomex but work in Mexico City, it also applies because they accept proof of address from the metropolitan area. The process requires official ID, proof of address, the paid payment slip, evaluation certificate, and you need to schedule an appointment through LlaveCDMX. Apparently, in the first weeks of the year, there were nearly 823,000 motorcycles circulating in the city, so you're not the only one thinking about regularizing this.
What I found important is that renewing the A2 license also costs the same after three years, so it’s better to be clear about this now. Service centers are listed on the official Semovi website if you want to schedule your appointment.
