Shaanxi Province Xixian New Area Market Supervision Administration Notice on 3 Batches of Food Safety Sampling Failures of Edible Agricultural Products in 2026 (2026 No. 001)

In recent times, the Xi’anXian New Area Market Supervision Administration of Shaanxi Province organized and carried out the 32 batches of samples of edible agricultural products for food supervision sampling in 2026 (hereinafter referred to as “sampling”). Among the sampled and tested items, 29 batches were found to be compliant and 3 batches were found to be non-compliant. The testing and determination were made in accordance with national food safety standards, enterprise standards that have been filed and are effective, and product-stated standards. The specific situation is hereby notified as follows (see Appendices 2 and 3):

I. Non-compliant product information

1. For the chili pepper (purchase date: 2026-01-22) sampled at Runjia Times Department Store Supermarket Co., Ltd., Konggang New Town, Xi’anXian New Area, the detected value of thiamethoxam is 0.075 mg/kg, and the standard value is ≤0.05 mg/kg. The testing institution is Shaanxi Taiyangjing Technology Service Co., Ltd.

2. For the celery (purchase date: 2026-01-26) sampled at Jingxing Box Convenience Store, Konggang New Town, Xi’anXian New Area, the detected value of thiamethoxam is 0.39 mg/kg, and the standard value is ≤0.04 mg/kg. The testing institution is Shaanxi Taiyangjing Technology Service Co., Ltd.

3. For the cilantro (purchase date: 2026-02-02) sampled at Xi’an Ruicheng Weiye Trading Co., Ltd., the detected value of bifenthrin is 0.40 mg/kg, and the standard value is ≤0.05 mg/kg. The testing institution is Shaanxi Taiyangjing Technology Service Co., Ltd.

II. Handling of non-compliant products

For non-compliant foods found in the sampling, the Xi’anXian New Area Market Supervision Administration of Shaanxi Province has ordered the relevant new district sub-branches to immediately organize and carry out disposal work, promptly investigate and handle non-compliant foods and their production and business operators, determine the product flow, and take measures such as removing from shelves and recalling non-compliant products to control risks, further requiring enterprises to fulfill their legal obligations; for unlawful and non-compliant acts, they will be dealt with according to law. Enforcement and investigation results will be publicly released by the relevant new district sub-branch responsible for case handling at the place where the enterprise is located, in accordance with regulations. If, during the investigation, it is found that matters involve the responsibilities of other departments, the relevant new district sub-branch shall notify the relevant functional departments of the relevant information.
