Choosing a pressure washer can surprisingly be a dilemma. Even the same product can vary quite a bit in water pressure, noise level, and usability. Recently, I’ve compared various models and have uncovered some tips unique to ultra-high-pressure washers.

In conclusion, the best choice depends on your environment. For example, if you’re using it in a residential area, prioritize quiet operation. If you have a large yard or parking lot, focus on water pressure and cleaning range. Even among ultra-high-pressure washers, there are significant differences.

Choosing based solely on water pressure can lead to regrets. While ultra-high-pressure washers with over 20 times the water pressure of a standard tap are excellent at removing dirt, many produce noise levels over 80dB. It’s not an issue during the day, but early mornings or late nights can be uncomfortable. On the other hand, models with slightly lower pressure—around 75dB—are more suitable for residential areas.

The cleaning range is also important. Even with the same area, a high-pressure washer that can spray a wide area at once drastically reduces work time. For example, a model with a 600cm2 spray area can clean an entire exterior wall quickly, whereas around 200cm2 can be quite labor-intensive.

Next, consider whether it’s corded or cordless. Cordless pressure washers are convenient but tend to have a narrower cleaning range due to battery limitations. If you have access to a power outlet, a corded model offers more stability and longer use.

Personally, I recommend a balanced ultra-high-pressure washer. A water pressure of at least 10 times that of a standard tap is sufficient, and noise levels around 75–80dB are acceptable during daytime. Mobility is easier with caster wheels, and having a variety of accessories expands its uses. The price is also reasonable, typically in the 20,000–30,000 yen range.
