Hezbollah in Lebanon states it will continue resisting Israel

Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem said on the 4th that Hezbollah will continue to resist Israel until its predetermined objectives are achieved, and that this resistance is “survival defense.” In a televised address, Qassem said that as long as Israel’s occupation of Lebanon exists, Hezbollah has the right to resist the aggression of Israel and the United States and to retain its weapons. He also criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for making so-called “Greater Israel” remarks and accused the United States of supporting related claims. Qassem said that since the November 2024 Lebanon-Israel ceasefire agreement, Hezbollah has exercised restraint in its repeated attacks on Israel, but that Israel’s continued actions have now gone beyond Hezbollah’s tolerance.
