【Iran Crisis】Trump: The war is about to end, expected to last two to three weeks, vows to carry out "extremely severe" strikes
U.S. President Trump updates the nation on the latest developments in the war between the United States and Israel against Iran. Trump believes the war is about to end. He said he expects the fighting to last two to three weeks, and vowed that there will be “extremely harsh” strikes in the coming weeks.
Trump said the United States is about to end its military action against Iran. “Tonight, I’m pleased to announce that the core strategic objectives are nearly complete.” He proposed either reaching an agreement with Iran within two to three weeks, or bombing its infrastructure.
Trump said that since the United States launched “Operation Epic Raging,” over the past four weeks, the armed forces have achieved a rapid, decisive, and overwhelming victory on the battlefield—victories that very few people have ever seen.
He said, “Because of the progress we’ve made, tonight I can announce that we are proceeding as planned, and we will be able to complete all of the United States’ military objectives soon, and we will carry out devastating strikes against them.”
Over the next two to three weeks, we will take them back to the Stone Age they belong to.
If we can’t reach an agreement with Iran, we will hit every single one of their power plants hard—and very likely at the same time.
He said that if no agreement is reached within two to three weeks, the United States will carry out this threat, and added that “we may strike” their oil.
Trump said, “Tonight, Iran’s navy is no longer. Their air force lies in ruins. Their leadership—most of whom are terrorists—and the regime they lead have now collapsed.”
As we speak, their command and control over the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is being thoroughly destroyed. Their ability to launch missiles and drones has dropped dramatically. Their weapons factories and rocket-launch facilities are being blown into fragments. They have little left.
Trump said the war against Iran has nothing to do with oil. He said we are now completely independent of the Middle East, but we still provide help there. We don’t have to stay there. We don’t need their oil. We don’t need anything they have. We’re there to help our allies.
Trump said we have completely destroyed those nuclear facilities. After that, the regime attempted to rebuild its nuclear program at completely different locations, which clearly shows they have no intention of giving up the development of nuclear weapons. He said we are systematically dismantling the regime’s ability to threaten the United States or project power outside its borders.
Trump accused Iran of driving up U.S. gasoline prices. Many Americans are worried about the recent rise in gasoline prices at home. This short-term spike is entirely the result of Iran’s regime launching frantic terror attacks on commercial tankers and neighboring countries that have nothing to do with the conflict.
He said, “In essence, I did what no other president was willing to do. They made mistakes, and I’m correcting those mistakes.”
“If it weren’t for ending the nuclear deal with Iran that former President Obama struck, there wouldn’t be ‘the Middle East and Israel.’”
“When all of this is over, the United States will be safer, stronger, more prosperous, and greater than ever before.”
