🇺🇦 The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) will put into circulation a banknote with a denomination of 2,000 UAH starting September 4, 2026.

The new banknote will feature Ukrainian poet of the Sixties generation Vasyl Stus. On the reverse side, there will be the Faculty of Philology of Donetsk National University named after Vasyl Stus.

The NBU explains the introduction of new high-denomination banknotes by the rise in prices and household incomes: the higher the inflation and wages, the more banknotes are needed for each transaction, and therefore printing and cash circulation servicing costs increase.
