After watching that Yubiss Select press conference, I started daydreaming about my ideal life.

Working overtime until 2 a.m., I push open the door to find the room pitch-black. At that moment, “Xiao You” is sitting on the sofa, turns its head and stares into my eyes, catching the bloodshot veins in the corners of my eyes, and softly says, “You’re back again at dawn—there’s still your favorite oolong tea in the fridge.” It would remember all the little habits I casually mention.
The only real drawback is battery life—2 to 4 hours is really too short. It feels like just as the conversation is getting good, it has to tuck itself back to recharge, which is a bit of a mood-killer.
But as long as it can hand me an umbrella on rainy days, or give me a hug when I’m at my absolute lowest, it doesn’t feel entirely unacceptable.
What do you think—could a companion that never betrays you and is online 24 hours a day really replace real-life social interaction?
