Token Analysis: Optimism (OP)

As the pioneer of Ethereum’s Layer-2 scaling track and the “Superchain” blueprint, Optimism (OP) has recently followed the broader crypto market into a deep correction. Driven by ongoing token unlocks (a large unlock of approximately 31.3 million tokens for core contributors and investors was completed at the end of June), the price is currently trading with low-level consolidation and undergoing “chip washing” around $0.10.

Cycle Phase: It is currently in the stage of restructuring the tokenomics framework and bottoming out in the long-term deep water.

Support and Resistance: The key short-term technical support level is around $0.09 (near a historic defense line). The main short-term resistance level above is in the $0.13 to $0.15 range.

Market View: OP is currently experiencing an extreme divergence—“token prices are extremely weak, while fundamentals continue to expand.” In terms of ecosystem structure, the Superchain alliance built with the OP Stack (including more than 30 chains such as Base and World Chain) has already surpassed 14.7 million in daily total transactions, taking the leading share of Layer-2 fees. More importantly, this year in February, the governance team officially launched a 12-month pilot program—using 50% of the Superchain’s net sequencer revenue to directly repurchase OP tokens in the secondary market on a monthly basis. This hardcore value-capture mechanism converts ETH fees into rigid buy pressure for OP, injecting substantial long-term recovery momentum as deleveraging nears its end and the retail float is being cleared.
