Just been doing some research on used cars and honestly, hitting 100k miles seems to be a real turning point for certain models. Like, I kept seeing the same cars pop up in forums where people were complaining about major repairs right around that mileage. Pretty wild how specific some of these issues are.

So apparently Nissan Altimas have this transmission problem that kicks in once they cross 100k - not ideal when you're looking at a reliable daily driver. Then there's the BMW 3 Series, which looks gorgeous but demands serious maintenance money after that milestone. Land Rovers apparently love throwing electrical gremlins at you, and Fiat 500s? Engine troubles and expensive fixes due to cramped engine bays.

Jeep Wranglers get rust and suspension issues, Ford Fiestas are sketchy with transmissions, Chrysler 200s need constant repairs early on. Volkswagen Tiguans develop transmission problems right around 100k miles, Mini Coopers are leak-prone, and Tesla Model S owners are looking at massive battery replacement costs. The common thread is pretty clear - is 100k miles on a car bad for these specific models? Yeah, seems like it's when things start falling apart.

Not saying you should avoid all of them, but if durability past 100k miles matters to you, might be worth looking elsewhere. The repair costs people mentioned were honestly shocking. Makes me think twice about which used car to actually pull the trigger on.
