Nvidia turns the founder of a quantum computing company into a billionaire within days after announcing support for the sector

Nvidia made the founder of a quantum computing company a "billionaire within days" after a strong surge in the emerging technology sector's stocks.. So how did that happen?

A strong jump in the technology sector
The value of Christian Weidbrock’s stake, founder of Xanadu Quantum Technologies Ltd., rose to around $1.5 billion within just a few days, following a sharp rise in the company’s shares.

Nvidia’s support changes the landscape
This rise did not come from a direct investment by Nvidia, but rather from its support for the quantum computing sector through the launch of open-source AI models, which helped increase investor interest in this field and significantly boosted the shares of its companies.

What is Xanadu?
Xanadu Quantum Technologies Ltd. operates in Toronto to develop quantum data centers by 2030, using quantum computers that send photons (particles of light) through optical fiber.

A technology different from traditional computing
Quantum computing relies on the physics of tiny particles, allowing a large number of calculations to be carried out at the same time, which could change the shape of technology in the future.
